2012 Junior Golf School

Bloomingdale Golf Club will be offering a summer Junior Golf School, taught by our PGA golf professional staff, to all interested boys and girls. The program will be structured around, basic fundamentals of the golf swing, rules and etiquette of the game, safety, and fun contests. Each lesson segment consists of introduction, demonstration and junior participation with the topic of the day.  Our objective is to provide juniors a good start to a game that can be played and enjoyed for a lifetime. 

Youngsters between the ages of 6 and 14 are eligible to participate. Each class must have a minimum of 4 and will not exceed 10 students. All students should have a set of golf clubs. If there is a need for equipment, please inform the golf shop and we will attempt to provide some clubs. Juniors need to wear proper attire and footwear. Golf shoes or tennis shoes are suggested. Please, no flip-flops or sandals. This is a very good starting point for learning proper golf etiquette.

This year, our school will offer two sessions.  Each session will go for two weeks, three days each of these weeks.  The first week of school will cover the short game.  The second week of school will focus on the full swing.  Within each school day, we will discuss the importance of etiquette and a specific rule of the game.  Additionally, participants in the white and blue groups will have the opportunity to spend time on the golf course with our instructional stafff on the last Saturday of each session.
 
Registration will begin on April 2nd, 2012. You may register by coming into the golf shop or by filling out the registration form and sending it in. Registration forms will be made available on-line beginning April 1st.

If your junior golfer is in need of golf clubs, we offer Tour Edge golf equipment. Our PGA professional will be happy to assist you in finding the correct club(s), set and size. For juniors participating in the program, your purchase will be discounted 20% off the list price!

Two sessions are offered with a choice of 3 groups. When registering, select the session you wish your youngster to participate in and then the age group.

Session 1: Tues,Wed,Thurs June 19th-29th Session 2: Tues,Wed,Thurs July 10th-July 20th              6 days each session

Note: Fee includes golf handouts and contest awards.

Days of inclement weather, please contact the golf shop at (630) 529-6232 to find out if program was cancelled. If needed, the Friday of each week will be a make-up rain date.
